Northwest Calgary is a sprawling district of residential suburbs and green spaces like huge Nose Hill Park, with grassy trails, Rocky Mountain views, and wildlife such as porcupines and gophers. More parkland curls alongside the Bow River, including Bowness Park, whose lagoon is popular for boating in summer and ice-skating in winter. The area is also home to the University of Calgary campus and several malls.
